On Fire at Live Wire!

Live Wire 2011 was an ultimate hat-tournament consisting mainly of players from Norwegian clubs and university teams in Hønefoss, Bergen and Oslo.

Live Wire is held every September in Hønefoss. In addition to motivating more outdoor play, Live Wire provides both new and old players the opportunity to meet new players who they'll meet again during the Ultimate Series and Norwegian Championships, both of which are held during the indoor season.
Live Wire was held over two days (24-25. sept 2011) at AKA Arena in Hønefoss Idrettspark.

Day #1 was the tournament (from kl.12.00 - 18.15), and day #2 was a practice session (from kl.11.00 - 15.15).

Outdoor ultimate is played 7-on-7 on a 100x37m field with 18m deep endzones. At AKA Arena, which is a 105x68m artificial turf field, we set up a 105x37m field with 16m deep endzones. But since many players who wished to play at Live Wire were unable to do so this year, we played 5-on-5 (3 games with 2 teams, in order to have subs) on a 89x37m field with 16m deep endzones. The games were played to 11, win by a two point difference, point cap at 13.

RESULTS:
The black team won all three games:
Game 1: 13-12
Game 2: 11-05
Game 3: 11-04

We also played Self-caught Flight (SCF) and Double Disc Court, both of which were new for our guests. We're confident that we found someone with the potential to win many SCF competitions!
